The population of Arcadia roughly doubles during the summer months as people from across the United States maintain summer homes in Arcadia. People are drawn to the natural beauty and relative remoteness of the area. Many of the visitors are connected with the nationally renowned Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course, built in 1999 in the south of the township. Camp Arcadia (Michigan), a Lutheran family retreat center founded in 1922, draws thousands of visitors each year. The town itself is small and quiet, with few activities besides a bar called the Big Apple. One of the few gravity hills in Michigan is located in Arcadia at the intersection of Putney and Joyfield Roads.
Each year the Arcadia Lions Club sponsors Arcadia Daze, a community celebration and fund raiser that is held the 4th weekend in July.
